As a trainer, I see clients come and go... I try not to let it get to me. Sometimes people leave to work with other professionals, which is ok. After all, every trainer is working towards a common goal; nobody wants to cause the horse any harm and ultimately wants to see both horse and handler/rider succeed.
What I find amongst many of those "lost" students is the need for immediate results. From time to time, it is competition related and the desire to be better, much quicker than is realistic for the horse. At times, it is because the horse in question is not suited to the owner; perhaps there are negative behaviours or a gap in the handler's knowledge - again, a quick fix is usually what is sought after.
It pains me to see the same story play out time after time... but this process is necessary for me to find those who really need my help, those who really want it. Likeminded souls!
Today reminded me of how much I have to give and how helping those who seek my advice can really make a difference in so many ways for their horses. The student I spoke to reminded me of my past self. I recognised the same feelings and worries that I experienced in years gone by and I could hear the want to succeed, despite some hurdles to be overcome. You reached out to me and I am here for you
Whatever you want to call it, "Natural Horsemanship" or anything else... What I teach, what I am passionate about, is building a strong partnership with the horses I work with. If I can make a horse's life that little bit easier, or a bit more comfortable; if I can help someone to learn more to help their horse, I am a happy trainer.

What is so different about Sense Equine Training?
Everything I teach has an origin; they are teachings from centuries gone by and adapted to be more easily understood. They are interpretations of Classical training, made more simple for the "Average Joe" to learn. Every lesson from the ground translates straight to the saddle; each method for problem solving or riding progression is thoughtfully taught without the need for gadgets.
I am not simply a riding instructor, I am a horse trainer. And I specialise in the foundations, a kind horsemanship for young horses, older horses (and their riders!) with anxieties or behavioural misunderstandings. I incorporate body language into my lessons to help with communication issues between horses and their owners. My focus on making the horse feel good, emotionally, but also in their bodies. These training methods work towards good health and balance; suppleness and strength, before asking for more. Above all else, I do not rush. My training is for those who want to speak to their horses quietly, for those who truly want it.
I am committed to every student who I teach, online or in person alike.
